tradition and hospitality in Umbria
La Posta di Confine is few kilometres away from the historic centre of Corciano, in that charming part of Umbria that stretches between Perugia and Lake Trasimeno.
The facility rises on the fringe of a secular holm-oak wood, in a large protected area that still preserves unique environmental features.

A careful restoration of the buildings that rise in the hills gives a special charm to the facility. Such a work has allowed the preservation of the historical elements of an ancient building that was erected in the shape of a Tower. In the past, this building had the function of a check point, along the road that wayfarers had to cover in order to avoid the marshland of “guado” - the woad - that is the plant from which a dye for fabrics was extracted.
The Tower, which rose on the boundary between the lands subjected to the castles of Mantignana and Chiugiana, was enlarged and then incorporated in the farmhouse. Now it is an integral part of the facility.

The sensation that arises in this place is to find oneselves in a tiny hamlet where - in the past - life was marked by the succession of seasons and country works.
Careful observers will be able to live over again atmospheres of the past and imagine the country life of those people who lived - often with sacrifice but always with extreme dignity - in this place full of history. Stones and bricks will be eloquent witnesses.

Today The Farm where you may spend your holidays is devoted to the cultivation of hundred-year-old olive trees that cover the hill near the facility.
The cultivation is carried out on the basis of biological and certified criteria. The issue is an excellent extra-virgin olive oil that guests can taste in addition to other genuine foodstuffs as home-baked cakes and jams, all served in the lounge at breakfast time.
